Return Policy
At Smart Boat Parts, our goal is simple: help you keep your boat running safely, reliably, and affordably. We know that from time to time a part may need to be exchanged or returned, and our policy is designed to make that process clear, fair, and hassle‑free.
Return Eligibility
To qualify for a return, the following conditions must be met:
The return must be initiated within 30 days of delivery.
Products must be new, unused, and uninstalled.
Items must be returned in their original OEM packaging, with no writing, damage, or missing components.
If test‑fitting is required, the item must be opened carefully to avoid damage.
Boxed items must be shipped back inside a secondary box to ensure safe transport.
The following items cannot be returned:
Serialized components
Complete outdrives (upper or lower units)
Transom assemblies
New or remanufactured engines, long blocks, or short blocks
Marine electronics
Special‑order items (these may be returnable with a 30% restocking fee plus any freight incurred — contact us for details)
Refunds & Return Shipping
For Qualified Unused or Unwanted Items:
For returns where the item is unused, uninstalled, and in resalable condition:
Smart Boat Parts will provide a prepaid return shipping label for your convenience.
The original shipping cost and the full cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund total.
Refunds are issued to the original form of payment once the item is received, inspected, and verified to meet return requirements.
Items returned in non‑resalable condition, missing packaging, or showing signs of installation may be denied or subject to additional deductions.
Item Does Not Match Order:
If the item you received does not match your order:
Smart Boat Parts will exchange or replace the item at no cost to you.
We cover all shipping charges, including return shipping and replacement shipping.
Photos may be requested to confirm the error and speed up the replacement.
Shipping Damage:
If your order arrives damaged in transit:
Please report the issue as soon as possible and include photos of the packaging and damaged item.
Smart Boat Parts will replace the damaged item at no cost to you.
You may be asked to keep the original packaging for carrier claim purposes.
We handle all carrier claims on your behalf — you will not need to contact the carrier.
Manufacturer Defects
If an item is defective out of the box:
Contact us with a brief description and photos or video of the issue.
We will replace or refund the item at no cost to you once the defect is confirmed.
Some items may be evaluated under the manufacturer’s warranty, but Smart Boat Parts will guide the process and ensure you receive a working product.
Delivered but Not Received / Porch Theft
If tracking shows “Delivered” but the package is missing:
The issue must be reported within 2 days of the delivery scan.
Smart Boat Parts is not responsible for theft after delivery, and carrier insurance does not cover stolen packages.
We will assist with any available carrier investigations, but replacements or refunds cannot be guaranteed for theft‑related losses.
How to Start a Return
To initiate a return, please follow these steps:
1. To initiate a return, click Return Form. You will need your order number to begin the process.
2. Complete all required fields in the form.
3. In the Comments section, clearly include:
The reason for return
If applicable, attach a photo (e.g., damaged packaging, incorrect item, or condition concerns).
4. Once submitted, our team will review your request and respond with next steps, including your return label if the item qualifies.
Additional Notes
Orders shipped to an incorrect address provided by the customer will only be refunded if the package is returned to us and confirmed received.
Returns sent without prior authorization may experience delays in processing.
